From the Mona Lisa to Romantic masterpieces, Samsung expands its digital gallery with 51 iconic works from the Louvre museum. The curated collection enables users to display world-renowned art on compatible Samsung Art TVs and displays globally.

The market for digital home galleries continues to expand as technology manufacturers integrate high-resolution displays with curated art archives. Samsung has announced a significant expansion of its digital catalog by incorporating more works from the Louvre Museum. This update reflects a broader industry trend where televisions serve as aesthetic centerpieces rather than just entertainment devices.

Expanding the Digital Louvre Collection

Samsung recently integrated 34 additional artworks from the Louvre into its Samsung Art Store platform. This update increases the museum's total presence on the service to 51 specific masterpieces. Users can now access some of the most recognized historical paintings in the world through their compatible displays.

Key Masterpieces and Technical Compatibility

The expanded collection features diverse historical periods, from the Renaissance to Romanticism. The lineup includes the following notable works:

  • Leonardo da Vinci’s "Mona Lisa"
  • Eugène Delacroix’s "Liberty Leading the People"
  • Paolo Veronese’s "The Wedding Feast at Cana"

Samsung has also detailed the hardware requirements for accessing these digital images. The Art Store will be available on various 2025 and 2026 models. For the 2025 lineup, compatible devices include the Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, The Frame, The Frame Pro, and The Movingstyle. The 2026 support list extends to Micro RGB, OLED, and Mini LED variants. Specific OLED models, such as the S95H globally and S99H in Europe, will also support the service.

Market Context and Regional Restrictions

The Samsung Art Store now hosts a library of over 5,000 artworks from more than 800 individual artists. By partnering with institutions like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and MoMA, Samsung competes directly with other digital art platforms such as Meural and Canvia. While these competitors often require dedicated frames, Samsung integrates the service into retail consumer televisions.

However, the availability of this specific Louvre collection is not universal. The museum's digital works are currently unavailable in 18 MENA countries. This regional restriction includes markets such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Egypt. Consumers in these areas will not have access to the Louvre's expanded catalog despite owning compatible hardware.

The Louvre represents the very best of French artistic and cultural heritage. We are proud to bring these masterpieces beyond museum walls and into the homes of millions around the world through our Samsung Art TVs.

Considerations for Display Owners

For current owners of The Frame, this update provides more variety without requiring additional hardware purchases. For those considering a new purchase, the value of the Art Store depends on the user's interest in classical art versus modern digital photography. While the Louvre additions strengthen the classical portfolio, the subscription-based nature of the service remains a factor for long-term ownership costs. The success of these digital galleries depends on the accuracy of color reproduction and the matte finish of the screens to mimic actual canvas textures.
