Samsung Expands Ecosystem with Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and New Original Content

Samsung kicks off Samsung Week 2026 with the 8-inch Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and a new scripted series for its subscription-free TV Plus service.

Samsung has been busy expanding its hardware ecosystem and digital services, focusing on larger displays and integrated home intelligence. The company is currently highlighting these advancements through Samsung Week 2026, an event running from October 12 to November 1, 2026, which introduces new mobile hardware alongside updated home appliances.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Wearable Updates

The centerpiece of the new mobile lineup is the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. What stands out visually is the 8-inch main display, providing enough screen real estate to manage emails and schedules in a side-by-side view. This larger canvas follows a trend toward tablet-sized foldable screens, competing directly with high-end productivity devices in the mobile space.

Beyond the foldable, Samsung is updating its wearable and audio categories with the following specifications:

  • Galaxy Watch Ultra2: Tracks heart rate and recovery using new Fitness Index and Daily Cardio Load metrics.
  • Galaxy Buds4 Pro: Features real-time adaptive noise cancelling to adjust to environmental sounds.
  • Galaxy Watch9: Included in promotional bundles with 60 days of Strava and two months of iFIT.

To support these devices, Samsung is offering a Galaxy Card that provides 5% cash rewards on direct purchases and a $200 welcome bonus after a $2,000 spend. Additionally, select products like the Z Fold8 series, Z Flip8, S26 FE, and Tab S12 include six months of Google AI Pro with 5TB of cloud storage.

AI Integration in Home Appliances and Displays

On a different front, Samsung is pushing its "Bespoke" line further into automated home management. The Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub now utilizes AI Vision to identify food items, track expiration dates, and suggest recipes based on available inventory. This reflects a shift toward appliances that actively manage household tasks rather than just storing goods.

The company is also addressing laundry efficiency with the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo. This all-in-one machine handles both washing and drying cycles without requiring you to swap loads manually. In the living room, the Samsung Micro RGB TV uses micro-sized RGB backlights to drive 4K picture processing, aiming for precise light control and color accuracy.

Original Content Expansion on Samsung TV Plus

In related news, Samsung is expanding its free streaming service, Samsung TV Plus, with original scripted content. The service has greenlit a new four-part anthology series titled "Unlikely Families," produced by Dhar Mann Studios. The series focuses on unexpected caregivers and serves as the second installment in the "Unlikely" anthology, following "Unlikely Romances."

The production originates from a 125,000 square foot studio in Burbank, California. The service remains subscription-free and is accessible across Samsung Smart TVs, Galaxy devices, Smart Monitors, and the Family Hub refrigerator screen.

As Samsung integrates more AI-driven features into its hardware and expands its proprietary content library, the company is betting on a more unified user experience. Whether these software enhancements and larger screens will drive long-term loyalty in a competitive hardware market will become clearer as the 2026 product cycle continues.
